Exterior view shows a man walking and a horse-drawn carriage traveling past the classical-style building with a broad stairway, central portico with Doric columns, and wings. Main Hall view shows patrons using the card catalog, browsing books, and reading at a table in the large hall with a tall ceiling and central stairwell to an upper floor. Memorial Room shows the room in honor of James Rush, the benefactor for the construction of the building. The room is furnished with book cases, cushioned chairs and centre setee, a chandelier, and a picture mirror. The room is heavily decorated with framed works, sculpture, and objets d'art. Librarian's room shows the room furnished with book cases, a table and chairs, a picture mirror, spitoon, and framed works.
